Norway Chess 2024 Announces Players
12th Consecutive Year for Prestigious Tournament

Stavanger, Norway (January 18, 2024) - Norway Chess has announced the players for the 12th edition of the prestigious tournament, which will be held from May 27 to June 5, 2024 in Stavanger, Norway.
The tournament will feature a strong field of players, including world champion Magnus Carlsen, former world champion Vishy Anand, and rising star Alireza Firouzja.
The players will compete in a 10-round round-robin format, with a time control of 100 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for the next 20 moves, and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move starting from move 61.
The total prize fund for the tournament is 1 million euros, with the winner receiving 200,000 euros.
